Data Analyst

My client are empowering the next generation of creative people by offering them spaces 24 hour, self-service Rehearsal, DJ, Recording, Podcast and Dance Studios across Europe and they are currently looking to add a data analyst to their team.

You will be tasked with getting the most out of the companies data. This includes building the data models in the self-service analytics platform (Looker) as well as helping teams across the business deepen their understanding of the platform and the data behind it. This role will work with all departments to improve data coverage from a wide variety of sources and will work closely with Data Engineering to help bring those data sources into the data platform.

  • Build and maintain the BI data models using SQL (LookerML)
  • Run workshops with business functions to design new data models from a variety of sources
  • Assist business functions with their BI requirements and help them get the most out of the data available
  • Work with data engineering to bring in new data sources where required
  • Work with data engineering to identify and fix slow running queries
  • Work with other departments to maintain and improve data coverage
  • Work with product, marketing and technology to ensure event tracking across our digital platforms is best practice
  • Assist other departments with data education and discovery
  • Data cataloging and documentation to support self-service analytics
  • Providing input into the overall data strategy
  • Contributing to the data coverage (integration) and data modelling roadmap
  • Leading estimation and scoping of work (including tactical prioritisation of sprint work)
  • Occasionally build custom reports in SQL, although the first approach will always be to model in Looker
  • At least 4 years experience writing complex and efficient SQL queries
  • Building data models for an analytics/BI tool
  • Proficient in one of the leading BI tools (Looker/Tableau/Power BI)
  • Google Analytics and event tracking
  • Leading cross-department analytics projects
  • Running data training and education
