Manchester/Remote (Circa 1 day a month on site in Manchester)

An Infrastructure Engineer is required for our client to assist and develop their Azure environment as they start to build new and migrate existing services into Azure.

Required Skills

• Experience of Implementation and configuration of Azure services in a secure environment for both IaaS/PaaS including: Virtual machines, Web application services, API Management, Storage (Blob, File, Data Lake), B2C, SQL Databases (Azure SQL Managed Instances/databases), Azure functions, Logic Apps, CDN, Redis Cache, Networking (Vnet, Application Gateway).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Landing zones and well architected framework.
• Generation of scripts and templates using PowerShell, JSON templates, ARM templates and BICEP for the provisioning of cloud resources

Desirable Skills

• Containers (AKS)
• Cost Management in Cloud Health
• Application Monitoring using Logic Monitor
• Building CI/CD pipelines using Github, Github Actions and Octopus

The organisation uses ARM Templates and BICEP for their IaC deployments into Azure along with Powershell for most automation tasks, they use Github as a repository along with Github Actions so these skills are very desirable.
On-Premise automation tasks are primarily done using Powershell so experience in non-cloud based automation is also required.
In addition to the implementation, coding and automation skills the role will also include general support of the Azure environment so a thorough knowledge of the components listed in the 'Azure Required Skills' from a support and performance tuning perspective is also required.
The other aspect of the role will be documentation and transition into operations which will involve handover to the BAU teams.
